Further Description of services
We are able to consult with you about anything regarding your website. We can offer advice about layout designs, domain registration and web hosting. We will respond quickly and knowledgeably to your questions as we are able. If we do not have an answer, we will do everything in our power to find the answer for you.
We offer standards compliant web design. This means that your code should work on all browsers. A static site is one that doesn't change unless the code is altered physically. HTML is the most common language of web code and XHTML is merely a more versatile version of the HTML coding language.
By approximately 6 pages we mean that the industry standard for websites is 6 pages. But we understand that your site might not be exactly like everyone else's website. In fact we hope that by choosing Eternal Second as your web developers your site will be different and original. That being said the number of your pages does not really matter as much as the amount of work we have to put in to create them. If you have 20 small pages that don't take much time then we won't charge you an extra fee per page.
As part of our services to you we will offer 3 design layouts tailored to your specifications. You can then choose from these options the one that you want as your website layout. If, in the event, that you are not fully satisfied with your choices we will make our best effort to come up with a design you can be pleased about.
If a design cannot be agreed upon by both parties within a reasonable effort we would need to have a serious chat as to what you really want in your website and determine a new cost at that point.
For those customers who want a complex layout with many interwoven elements we offer this feature. This is this ultimate service we can offer. We will come up with as many layout designs as you want and make them as complex as you want. With this feature we will not stop until you are completely satisfied with your website. We can't however guarantee a price for this feature, as the amount of work may be widely varied. But we can guarantee you will be pleased.
Some companies would charge you for the number of words. We disagree with them. Your text should be yours whether it is 10 words or a novel. However, we were not English majors. We expect our clients to submit to us finished text ready to be inserted into the page. We believe that your text is your own. Therefore, we won't alter it or claim it as our own property. You can submit your text using any number of means but the easiest way for us to add it to your site is from email.
Hyperlinks are navigational links within a website. These links can also include outside websites as you desire.
The customer must supply all photos and images wanted on the website. The customer will hold full responsibility for the legality of the images. These can be supplied to us via email, FTP or CD-ROM.
We will edit any images that need to be cropped, red-eye removed, date-stamp removed, resized, or optimized for web. These are all services included in the basic package. Any major manipulation would incur a small fee. Someone from Eternal Second will contact you before work on the image(s) starts if such charges will apply.
Any images provided by the customer that need major manipulation will be altered after consulting the customer. Major image alterations include: removal of a person, additions of/from other images, strange images shapes. Minor alterations such as cropping, resizing, red-eye removal, or other small edits are offered as part of the basic package.
We will fix any bugs or strange problems that arise from our unaltered product. This is a service we will provide for life. Some web design companies would actually charge for this, and it would be limited to only a few years. For us your website is a matter of pride. If it doesn't work properly we will fix it. However, if you or another party should alter the website we will charge a fee for fixing any problems that may be caused by them (See below). If alterations are made to your site without your authorization, we will help you restore your original website again, free of charge.
Because we offer web standards compliant web design, our product reflects both your business and our own. We reserve the right to edit any changes made to your website for the sole purpose of maintaining the quality and standards to which we hold our own work. For any changes needed we must charge a fee. This fee will be determined by the following scale:
- Small changes: hyperlinks, text, pictures of original aspect ratio
- Medium changes: picture editing
- Large changes: Layout, major formatting, adding dynamic content
- Other changes may be subject to estimation depending on
- Charges are per page
If you site needs a major overhaul but you want to keep the basic layout and design the same this is the feature for you. We will renegotiate price based on amount of work needed to make these changes.
If you are not comfortable making minor changes or additions to your site, we are willing to help. For these services, we charge the same price as we would for minor bugs and fixes:
- Small changes: hyperlinks, text, pictures of original aspect ratio
- Medium changes: picture editing
- Large changes: Layout, major formatting, adding dynamic content
- Other changes may be subject to estimation depending on

Finally placing your completed website on your hosting server is our pleasure and will be done free of charge. If we did not set up your hosting service for you we will need login and passwords, as well as permissions to edit any files on the server.
We can host your website for a nominal fee. We offer several hosting packages and options, so if you are interested in web hosting as part of your site package, we encourage you to fill out a quote request.
We will create and post a Google sitemap unique to your site to increase the effectiveness of Google's indexing of your website.
Depending on the host that you choose, you will more than likely be given the ability to have email accounts at your domain (e.g. - mail@yourdomain.com). We will help you to set these up, including whether or not you wish them to forward to other mail accounts.
We do not offer search engine submission at this time. As our business continues to grow and develop, this feature may be added into future contracts. However, because there are literally hundreds (if not thousands) of web companies offering quick and easy search engine submission, we will assist you in researching and selecting the best option for your website.
This will be a page separate from the base page count that will allow others to email you from a form rather than from an email account. It will include a return email address and a section to make comments. This service will include one email address for the form email to be sent to.
We can offer you an original custom made logo for your website and your business. The same designer who creates your logo will strive to make the website work seamlessly with your logo. The custom logo fee includes as many revisions and discussions about the logo as needed to make you happy. After understanding what you want in your logo we will offer at least 3 different logos for your consideration. If none of these fit your need we will make a reasonable effort to comply with your needs.
Dynamic content on a website is any content that will actively change for the user. Any site that uses a database such as MSSQL Server, MySQL, or Access is capable of displaying dynamic content.
Macromedia Flash allows complex image movement and timing. The amount of work to create these files is considerable. They can be used very effectively but take some time to create.
Content management goes hand in hand with Dynamic Content and Secured areas of a website. This allows you to login to your website and change the way certain pages are displayed, change their content, and possibly even change their layout, all from an easy to use control panel. The primary benefit of this is to prevent unnecessary changes to the actual files of your website. You will not have to rely on someone else if you wish to add simple content.
If you have a Content Management System in place on your website, we offer e-mail consultation free of charge to answer any questions you may have pertaining to the system.
If you do not want to have a full Content Managment System (CMS) set up on your website, we can create premade templates for you to allow you to update and add content to your site while still maintaining the same quality, look and overall feel of your website.
Secured pages are those pages which are not publicly accessible. Generally, secured pages will be used in tandem with Dynamic Content or a Content Management System, but they can also be used to simply show a different version of your website to specific users. Depending on what you choose to add to your site, you will have the ability to add or remove users, as well as allow people to register to view the protected areas of your site.
Note: This is not the same thing as a Secured Page in terms of information security. We would not recommend using these secured pages to do business or make secured transactions involving sensitive information.
If you wish to have any kind of forum software installed on your website, we can do so. We are currently familiar with the Snitz forums (http://forum.snitz.com/) and phpBB forums (http://www.phpbb.com/). Snitz is an ASP (Active Server Pages) based forum system compatible with Access, MySQL, and MSSQL databases. phpBB is PHP based and compatible with MySQL and MSSQL databases.
We can offer to help manage and maintain your forums for a fee. We are able to perform the following duties:
- MOD (modification) setup and installation to provide additional features to your forums
- Moderation of your forums; this entails checking the forum regularly to ensure that your visitors are complying with the rules that you set forth for your forum
- Administration of your forums; this is generally a bit more involved than simple moderation. Administrators have the ability to add moderators and alter or ban individual members if they do not comply with your rules
If you wish to do business online, we can assist you with setting up a PayPal account that will allow your visitors to pay for products or services through your website. For more information on PayPal's Terms, fees, and programs, go to PayPal's website.
We will always maintain a current backup of your website. We will go in once a week and download a full copy of your website (including applicable databases). Should anything ever happen to your host's server or your site in general, we can restore your site to a recent backup immediately.
All graphics and code created by Eternal Second are owned by Eternal Second. This contract gives the client license to use graphics and code on only the website specifically named in this contract. The Custom Logo may also be used as your personal/business logo.
All graphics and text given to Eternal Second by the customer for use in the website remain the customer's property. This contract gives Eternal Second permission to use any graphics and text provided by the client for the purposes of creating the client's website or for use in our company portfolio.
After your website is finished
We understand that you will not always want to keep the same layout and design for your site. Many sites revamp their look and feel annually, and many others stay the same for several years before updating.
We want you to always be satisfied with the quality and layout of your site. Therefore, we are able to change the look and feel of your site if you wish. No new content or features will be added during this process, and you have two options to choose from:
- Basic redesign: For the basic site redesign, refer to the Custom Layout Design above
- Advanced redesign: For this service, refer to the Complex Layout Design above
